Access
Three tiers.
Each tier of the Aureneum library is granted by invitation. Every reader is reviewed by a person, and credentials are issued by Aureneum.
The ladder
Not more of the same.
Tier II holds research Tier I cannot reach, and the record of how every conclusion was reached. Tier III adds work conducted jointly. Separately, the first white paper will be published on this site in full, free and with no account.

Prices are the current rate card, in pounds sterling. Aureneum is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged: the Tier I price of £79 a month is the total payable. Tier II and Tier III fees are stated exclusive of VAT. The price for a given subscription is the one stated in its invitation. Prices may change on at least 30 days' notice, taking effect at your next renewal and never within a period already paid for, as the Terms of Service provide.
Tier I
How to buy.
Tier I is bought by card, from a private invitation issued once a person has reviewed your enquiry. What you buy, what you pay and what follows are stated here in full.
- Product
- Tier I, Individual: a monthly subscription to the General series of the Aureneum library, in final form, for one named professional reader. Not transferable.
- Price
- £79 a month, in pounds sterling. This is the total payable: Aureneum is not registered for VAT, so none is added.
- Billing
- Monthly. The first month is paid when you accept your invitation, and the subscription renews each month until cancelled. Where a renewal does not settle, collection is attempted no more than twice, normally on the next working day, after which access ends and nothing further is charged.
- Payment
- By card, on Airwallex's secure payment page, reached from your invitation. Card details are entered with Airwallex and are never held by Aureneum.
- Delivery
- Digital access in Aquila, Aureneum's client application. Credentials are issued to the named reader within one working day of confirmed payment, and two-factor authentication is enrolled on first sign in. Nothing is shipped, and nothing is charged for delivery.
- Cancellation and refunds
- Cancel at any time by writing to us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid for, and access continues to that point. Refunds, and the 14 day right that applies to consumers, are set out in Cancellation and Refunds.
- Terms and law
- The Terms of Service govern the subscription, under the law of England and Wales.
Tier II and Tier III are not bought by card. Each invitation is followed by an invoice to the organisation, settled by transfer or by secure payment link.
Tier II
The record of how we got there.
A final paper states a conclusion. The Working Record shows the work: what was asked, what was tried, what was rejected and why, and what the conclusion actually rested on. It is attached to every paper in the library, and it is the reason an institution steps up a tier.
What it holds
The question and its scope. The hypotheses considered, with the ones rejected and the reason. The data and its lineage, with sources and vintages. The trials run and their outcomes. The robustness checks. The judgement calls. The sign-off.
What it is not
Not a recommendation. Not a parameter set. Not a view about the future. It is historical and descriptive: an account of how a piece of research was done, written so that a reader can judge whether to rely on it.
How it is held
Read in the client application only, beside its paper. Marked to the reader on every page. Never downloadable. The record is the closest thing to Aureneum's method that leaves the building, and it is handled accordingly.
How access is granted
By invitation.
There is no self-registration. Every reader is reviewed by a person, and every purchase begins with a private invitation. The same five steps apply to every tier. Only payment differs, by card for Tier I and by invoice for Tier II and III, and a partnership's terms are settled in writing before its invitation.
- I
You write to us
From a business address, saying which of the three tiers you are asking about and, for an institution, roughly how many readers.
- II
We assess
Professional individual or institution, the tier that fits, and any exclusivity arrangement. Not every enquiry results in an invitation.
- III
We issue a private invitation
One link, sent by email from our domain to one address, valid for seven days. It opens a page that states exactly what you are being offered and at what price.
- IV
You accept and settle
On that page you confirm who the research is for, accept the terms, and choose whether access begins at once. Individuals then pay by card on Airwallex's secure page. Institutions receive an invoice.
- V
Credentials follow
Issued by Aureneum to each named reader within one working day of confirmed payment or recorded settlement. Two-factor authentication is enrolled on first sign in. Access opens at that point.
